The Compliance Industry Doesn’t Suffer From Complexity… It Suffers From Clarity

The compliance industry doesn’t suffer from complexity. It suffers from a lack of clarity.
I’ve learned this the hard way. Regulations are written for lawyers, not for the people who have to apply them. Manuals feel like they were designed to confuse. And most templates assume you have a compliance department on speed dial.
The cost is real. Small teams spend hours trying to interpret what should be straightforward. They are not failing compliance because they do not care. They are failing because the rules are buried in ambiguity.
That ambiguity creates risk. I believe clarity is the real advantage. Compliance should feel like a partnership, not a puzzle. When expectations are clear, people act with confidence and businesses stay safer.
What is one regulation you have seen that was harder than it needed to be simply because it was unclear?
